Tech-trend forecaster Paul Saffo of the Institute for the Future in Menlo Park, California
?Cummins is counting on Indian engineers to help write the software that will make its engines perform more efficiently. It is hiring Indians to do computer analysis of those engines so the company can do away with costly $100,000 ?prototypes

Indian techies are mere code coolies, no match for American techies. Shocked? But that is what the Americans are saying to the world. The West would have you believe that Indian techies are good only for routine work and lack creative skills to script high-end programs.
Eduardo Porter writing in The New York Times says as much and makes a strong argument on the emerging trend in US, Inc. to keep the high technology jobs at home, in the safe hands of American techies.

It is not pakistan that is at war with the world, it is the US government , if at all pakistan and india are merging superpowers negotiating peace , although fragile id bet and so with many million others that it is a safer alternative than what the US govertment is doing which makes it folly for resentment and retaliation , so before you start judging pakistanis and their threat to india , examine your own backyard and liberate your own conciousness.

I have always found it odd that people come to the United States, then they become citizens, and they cant decide whether to be a United States Citizen or they prefer to support their previous home nation. If you love India so much, then go home! Which is it? Are you a United States Citizen or do you prefer to go back to India to live? Make up your mind and then support the country you have your citizenship in. The only reason any country hires people from another country is one of maybe 2 possibilities. Either no one in the country has that level of expertise, or they are just trying to save money. Maybe 2 years from now some other nation will have the cheapest programmers.
Programmers are a dime a dozen. Whether from India or from Europe or from China, or from South America, there are thousands of programmers that could be hired to do the same exact thing. When Bill Gates was developing the beginnings of Windows 3.0 and even prior to that he hired a very talented Hungarian to get the project forward. India is not “All That”, it is just the cheapest “All that” that is readily available. I think you are so full of yourself that you overestimate your country of origin’s worth to the world.
There are plenty of Intelliget people in this world. Go to any large university in the United states and you will see people from China, Japan, Slovakia, and other countries. Many people want to come to the US and go to the best schools. Often their governments pay their way and then they turn their backs on their own country and decide they like the freedoms and the opportunities they find in the USA instead of returning to their own country and working there to pay back what they were given by their own country of origin. They are Traitors not worthy of being trusted. In a way I do not blame them. However, there are plenty of people trying to get to this country legally. I personally feel all foreigners here illegally or with expired visas should be rounded up and shot in the Head. They all make it hard for honest people with good intentions to immigrate here legally. They are a drain on the American society which is based on Freedom and the rule of law.
If people want to come to the USA legally and become a citizen, that is fine. It is what the USA stands for. However, they should have to compete with everyone else wanting to get to the USA under the Quota System without exceptions or special allowances on behalf of large corporations who make large donations to multiple politicians.
In the meanwhile, whenever I hear that somewhat distinctive Indian/British accent on my phone I plan on going with my conscience and hanging up immediately. That is my right as a United States Citizen. There are plenty of honest underprivilidged people In the USA that could be trained to answer the phone. There is not a logical reason someone in the United States need to talk to someone on another continent to solve a problem of any kind. This just shows that some corporations care more for money than they do for the country they are doing business in. I could go to any High School in the USA and find a handful of intelligent Computer Literate People. People in the USA are not that stupid!

My Indian origin is not embedded in India, but in Africa. I am a descendent of the Indian Diaspora that have made their homes around the world, I would say I am blessed to have been a part of two worlds, now three living here in the USA.
My cultural identity is imbibed with Indian values and tradition which I am proud of, hence my defense and love of India and its people. I however don?t intend to defend India irrationally and perpetrate biased opinions against other cultures and races. I am as secular in thought as India is in its diversity and as tolerant as my Indian culture and religion teachers me to be. My love for India can never die even while living here in the USA because it is a part of who I am, just has an Irish American celebrates Saint Patrick?s day to affirm his Irish heritage, I celebrate India to affirm my Indian heritage and roots.
My response to this forum is not to agitate people and not to think in isolation, but to portray lively discussion and embrace and respect one and others opinions.
I took issue with you when you mentioned an attack on India by Pakistan, it was brazen at least I felt so, because it showed your contempt for India and its people and it typecast Arabic people as being nuclear terrorist. You and I know that not every Muslim that gets a pilots license is a suspect terrorist and their are “hot heads ” everywhere in the world capable of nuclear catastrophe not just in Pakistan. Your contempt for India was visible and it would not be unassuming that this manifested itself from your personal experiences with or against corporate outsourcing.
My mention of India?s contribution in America and the many Indian people that come here to study, conduct research and work in corporate America was not aimed at placing India on a pedestal as the supreme power base for programmers and code writers, and thereby display a bias against all other races including Americans, my response was to take issue with a personal vendetta aimed at Indian people as was affirmed by the nuclear statement you made and the length of discord that the creator of this site visibly shows when he displays T-shirts that mock India as being the major culprit.
This site also gave birth to other forums that are openly blatant in vilifying all foreigners, immigrants with racial overtures and makes India look like a cheap carpet to be trampled on. If I created the opinion that all other races and code writers where inadequate when compared to Indian programmers then I stand to correct myself.
I on the other hand have numerous Indian friends in US cities that contribute like all others to the prosperity and development of the US. India like any other country is competing in an international market and the outsourcing opportunity that is being bestowed on it is no different than the free enterprise capitalistic system that works in this country.
I certainly agree that many people that come to the United States come to enjoy the freedom of opportunity that this country provides. America?s growth and sustenance is the work of all immigrants, those that have come here 400 years ago and those that have landed here 4 years ago and off course the blessings of the native Indians. America?s creed for economic dominance is as a result of the ?work together? ethic that makes it prosperous, this manifest itself into the freedoms that exist here, freedom creates more prosperity and everyone gets a share of the pie. Without freedom there will be chaos and revolution and only a wise Government would see the discord of its implication.
I also take issue with your opinion on illegal immigration; I felt that your tone was inflammatory and while I agree that immigration must be controlled and regulated for numerous reasons, I cant help but feel that many immigrants who are not accepted through the normal channels, are decent human beings that merely want a better life and a small stake of that ?pie? of opportunity. Lets not forget the early settlers who came to this country journeyed to find a new frontier and a better quality of life.
I find your opinion on the claim that many illegals take away opportunity from citizens and other immigrants to be a slight fabrication. Many illegal immigrants here do the work that many US citizens refuse to do because of minimum wage rewards; many illegals immigrants here are responsible for the labor growth and sustenance of the agricultural sector, again a minimum wage hard labor job. I however don?t see you give thanks and gratitude that some foods especially perishables are fairly cheap because of well contained production cost, I would see this as exploitive labor and I know not many US citizens would accept such jobs with dignity but for an illegal it is blessing and a way of survival. I guess there are better ways to contain and enforce immigration control than trying to ?shoot them in the head?.
My major point of contention here is to argue that the world we live in is an inter-dependable world, we are indispensable to each other, as a country for economic survival and prosperity we depend on each other for skill, investment and development, the rewards for this is an economic cycle that creates world stability and helps underdeveloped countries develop. When it comes to understanding and tolerance we depend on each other for cultural diversity, religion and creed, the rewards for this is peace and everlasting friendship amongst the worlds races.
W e surely will feel the pain and loss when we lose our jobs for reasons we have no control over, but to feel resentment and anger only fuels our contempt and makes us think in isolation and become bitter, but when we accept that we are all a part of this s human race the race for a better life, a better career, a better car then we will find that we are able to use our energy more productively to find other alternatives, because in this race there are no losers but only winners, winners that help each other reach the finish line .
